3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will perform the Pacer and Push-up Test two times every year. We have pre-tested the pacer and we will be performing our pre-test for the push-ups the week of October 30th. The healthy range is only calculated for students 10 years old and older. If your child is less than 10 years old it is still a pretty good indicator of where they should be, but know that they will have a year or two to grow if they are currently below the healthy range.
The Pacer is a calibrated jog/run activity that starts very slow and gradually gets faster. It is an indicator of cardiovascular endurance with a speed element attached.
The Push-up test is a calibrated push-up test which works to test strength and also teach proper push-up form. Students must hold the correct position before they are signaled to return to the upward position.
Feel free to email me if you would like me to let you know your son or daughters scores.
